Walk for Dementia

Forget Me Not

Welcome to the Forget Me Not team fundraising page!

This is the fourth year that this team is walking in support of those living with Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia. After founding Little Voice Books, founders Amanda Bernardo and Samantha Clusiau-Lawlor set out to make a difference in their community by creating the Forget Me Not Project. The Project donates a portion of every Little Voice book sale to the Alzheimer Society of Canada and has donated over $7,000 to date. In addition to our national fundraising efforts, the team has committed to walking each year in their local chapter!

The Forget Me Not team is participating in the Walk for Dementia on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Tunney’s Pasture in support of Amanda Bernardo's grandmother Teresa Bernardo and all those living with Alzheimer's or dementia.  The team invites you to join us in supporting their fundraising goal by making a donation or by joining their team! Each year, the team has gained new friends from the Ottawa community by bringing together strangers for a common goal of making a difference in their community!

With your support, you’ll be helping even more people access the much-needed programs and services offered by The Dementia Society.

Your donation will directly benefit the 20,000 people in the Ottawa and Renfrew County area who are living with dementia by funding:

  • one to one support for 5,000 caregivers and families annually
  • peer support programs to help caregivers feel less alone
  • education on many topics related to dementia
  • social programs where caregivers and their loved ones can engage with others living with the same challenges

Whatever you can give will help - it all adds up! We greatly appreciate your support, and thank you for helping us to reach our fundraising goal.
